5 Tips to Build Your Confidence
Would you like to know why most people fail after they set a goal?
One of the main reasons is that deep down they don’t believe they can succeed.
They believe more in the likelihood that they will probably fail than in the possibility that they will succeed beyond their wildest dreams.
When they hit the first bump in the road they think: Here we go!
I knew it!
It was going to show up sooner or later, and then they give up.
Can you relate to this?
Your lack of faith in yourself becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy!
The truth is, that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
If you can conceive it, you believe it, you can achieve it!
Today, I would like to share five powerful techniques that will boost your confidence and belief in yourself.
Step 1:
Write down your achievements and successes, and more specifically, write down a significant success that you accomplished, for every decade of your life.
Once you have done that, begin by filling in the blanks with more achievements.
The truth is that we are wired to remember all our failures and broken agreements and to minimize our successes.
It is a little-known fact that when an event in our lives is coupled with a strong emotion like sadness, grief, fear, shame, or regret, more proteins are released in the brain to create neural pathways to help us remember these failures or traumatic events.
This means that it literally takes more effort to notice and enjoy our achievement.
EG, you clearly remember the moment you got fired, or the time your partner left you, or a parent died or you got injured, or you failed an exam.
These moments are cemented into our brain, while our successes and accomplishments are brushed under the carpet.
Acknowledging all your big and small successes builds a sense of I can do it!
I can accomplish whatever I want in life.
I can persevere till I get what I want!
Step 2
Stop saying I can’t…. they are the 2 most disempowering words in English.
Don’t think these words and don’t say them.
The words ‘I can’t’ are a lie because you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
Make your goal a priority!
Schedule time for it, and if you keep chipping away at it and don’t give up there are actually very few things you can’t do.
Step 3
A lot of people set a goal and become overwhelmed because they try to do too much at once.
A real confidence booster is to take small risks as often as possible.
Confidence grows when you have taken a risk and survived.
The key is to take small steps, a little beyond your comfort zone, and keep repeating the process.
Step 4
Closing your eyes and imagining doing the thing you are wanting to do, but afraid to do and imagining the perfect outcome.
The reason this works is that your body can’t tell the difference between a real event and an imagined one.
By imagining your perfect outcome, you create cellular memories of how to do it right.
So it works out the way you want it to.
Visualizing is programming your brain for success.
Step 5
Remove energy blocks to success inside your body by following the instructions in the video below.
