Let’s dive into something truly profound today!
Did you know that the concept of self-love is like a little known secret, known and practiced by only a small percentage of humans?
Just around 10% of humans have heard of this notion, and even more surprising, about 90% don’t seem all that interested.
That’s a real shame because the game of life can’t be played very well if you don’t realize its all about your capacity to love yourself!
But for those of you who have embarked on the journey of self-love, you know that you often face resistance from our very own nervous systems.
It’s like the more you try, the harder your cells resist!
I have even worked with clients who had an allergic reaction to self-love.
And, In the game of life, the ultimate aim of the game is to learn to love ourselves unconditionally.
So today, we can ease into it by becoming Your Own Best Friend.
What does it take to be your own best friend?
Before your become anyone’s friend you need to get to know that person a bit.
In today’s video I reveal some little know concepts about yourself, so click on the video above, and get a piece of paper and pen ready, because you will need it.
In this exercise, what I am going to show you helps strengthen your sense of appreciation for yourself.
It’s a confidence booster.
And, it’s to do with affirmations, but not in the traditional way of affirmations.
This time, I want you to list 3 top qualities that make you who you are.
For instance, think about how you would be or feel, if somebody took this quality away from you.
You would no longer feel yourself.
For instance, I love colours and beauty.
I love creating beautiful interiors and I appreciate art.
This is what makes me who I am.
So, that would be one important value.
Another for me would be being a mum.
If that was removed from me, I would no longer feel the same about myself.
So, now it is your turn.
What are 3 really important qualities that literally give meaning to who you are?
Write these down and then journal a bit more, figuring out how these qualities are unique to you, how they move you, and how you are different to anyone else, and how these make you your own favourite person!
Now, once you have done that, you will notice you feel calmer and more peaceful.
You are now releasing different hormones inside your internal pharmacy.
You have managed to turn off your stress hormones and are releasing some of the friendlier hormones.
