It’s Not Too Late To Be Delusional …

By Grada Robertson

March 4, 2026

Did you know that every single day I spend at least one full hour being completely and unapologetically delusional?

I close the door to my office, and in my mind there is a little sign hanging on the handle that reads:

KEEP OUT. I AM BEING DELUSIONAL.

Pete knows better than to disturb me.

I sometimes wish he could be delusional too, but he is often busy doing practical jobs while I am off rehearsing futures that do not yet exist.

During that hour, I allow myself to imagine a life that feels completely unrealistic.

And here is what fascinates me.

It is extraordinarily difficult for most humans to get clear on what they actually want.

Ask someone what they do not want, and they will give you a long, passionate and detailed list.

Ask them what they truly desire in their heart of hearts, and there is often silence, embarrassment, or a carefully edited and reasonable response.

But the Universe does not respond to reasonable.

It does not respond to the narrow language of the left brain, the cautious voice that says, “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” or the internal accountant that insists on proof before permission.

The creative field responds to vision,  imagery, frequency, and to the identity you rehearse long before the evidence arrives.

When I was nineteen years old and stepped onto Australian soil without a safety net, without a corporate plan, without a pension fund or a five-year forecast.

I was already delusional in the best possible way, because I could see something larger than my circumstances and I was willing to move toward it without guarantees.

By the time I was thirty-one I had six children and had never worked for anyone else, and although there were seasons when money was tight and pressure was real, I never stopped imagining a bigger life than the one directly in front of me, and I never allowed visible reality to be the final authority on what was possible.

I lived on the fumes of my dreams.

And over time those fumes condensed into something tangible.

Today Pete and I sit on a million-dollar property, with a thriving business that serves thousands, with six children who are movers and shakers in their own right, creating, building and contributing, and that did not happen because I calculated perfectly or waited until everything felt safe.

It happened because I was delusional before it made sense.

And I still am.

I dream of living in a big old mansion set in a vast green park, where the costs are covered and the pressure is lifted, where I can wake early and write in silence, create artwork without interruption, play music that fills high-ceilinged rooms, wander through gardens tended by a gardener who loves the land as much as I do, and where Pete is fulfilled, steady, sovereign and at peace beside me.

Some people would call that unrealistic.

I call it calibration.

Because reality, as most people define it, is backward-looking.

It is a reflection of what has already happened, but vision is forward-generating, and if you only ever allow yourself to think from current circumstances, you will only ever recreate current circumstances in slightly rearranged forms.

It is as though most people have a rear-vision mirror the size of their windscreen, while their windscreen is the size of a tiny mirror.

We have been programmed to base our dreams on our past, and unfortunately, most people’s past is full of pain, disappointment, lack, and limitation, which we then label as “reality.”

The Universe does not speak the language of limitation.

It speaks the language of what you dare to see before it exists.

And this is where my truck accident becomes part of the story, because when I was hit by a truck in 2006 and my body was shattered with forty broken bones, internal bleeding, organs damaged, my former life ripped away in a single brutal moment.

There was no evidence that I would walk again the way I do now, no guarantee that I would build again, love again, lead, teach, or create again.

If I had listened only to logic and visible reality, I would have collapsed into it.

But somewhere inside the rubble there was still vision.

There was still a delusional part of me that refused to accept that this was the final version of my story.

And that part pulled me forward, cell by cell, decision by decision, long before the outside world could see improvement.

This is why I teach my students to spend an hour a day being delusional.

Because desire is direction, and imagination is rehearsal of the next chapter in your life.

So many capable, intelligent, spiritually aware people are walking around believing they have missed the boat, when in truth, they have simply stopped allowing themselves to want something magnificent.

When you work with me, we do not just heal trauma or regulate the nervous system or clear old patterns (although we absolutely do that too), we also reconnect you to the part of you that dares to see a life larger than survival, and we strengthen that identity until it feels natural rather than outrageous.

The problem is not that your dreams are too big.

The problem is that you have been trained to be small, and small is not your natural state.

While you think you are being realistic, you may actually be fighting your creator-given capacity to expand.

Remember, the Universe always gives you what you tolerate.

If you live a life devoid of dreams and desire, that is what will be mirrored back to you.

So give yourself one sacred hour of being completely delusional.

If you genuinely do not know what you want, begin with jealousy.

Notice what makes you tighten inside.

  • A friend’s holiday.
  • A home someone lives in.
  • A relationship that looks nourishing.
  • A business that feels expansive.
  • A level of ease you secretly long for.

Jealousy is often misdirected desire.

It is a Divine nudge showing you something your soul recognises as possible.

Write it down and describe it in detail.

Instead of asking, “How could I ever have that?” ask, “Who would I need to become for this to be normal for me?”

Now let me be very clear: reading this email will not change your life.

Doing this once will not change your life.

If you are serious about expansion,  tired of circling the same ceiling, pretending you do not want more, then you need more than inspiration.

You need recalibration.

When you work with me privately, we go directly to the root of where you shrank and we dismantle the hidden loyalties to struggle.

We identify the unconscious ceilings you have normalised and strengthen your nervous system so it can hold wealth, visibility, impact and love without collapsing.

We rebuild you from the inside out.

This is not surface-level coaching, affirmation work, or talk therapy; it is a big structural change.

And it is only for those who are ready to stop negotiating with smallness.

If you feel activated reading this click here to book a private session with me.

If you are done living in the rearview mirror and ready to build from vision instead, take the next step.

The Universe does not respond to hesitation; it responds to commitment.
