Sandy came to see me after a lifetime of silent suffering.
She had been sexually abused from the age of four and had never spoken a word of it.
She grew up keeping her trauma neatly folded away inside, surviving, functioning, and even raising a family.
But she had never once felt safe in her body.
When she arrived at the Purple House, her nervous system was tightly braced, as if she had been holding her breath for forty years.
During our first session something shifted.
Trauma began to defrost from her body, the issues were releasing from her tissues and her whole body was pouring with sweat.
The she began sobbing, deep primal sobs that shook her body.
Her face was wet with tears.
The she was laughing and crying at the same time, releasing layers of stored pain that had been locked in her cells for decades.
And when the storm passed, she looked at me and said: “I’ve never felt this light in my life.”
That moment marked the beginning of her true healing.
Even babies can have a healing crisis — especially after a difficult birth.
My little grandson, Mackiah Barnes, was born into the world with a rough start.
His body was holding onto tension, as if he hadn’t fully landed yet.
He was uncomfortable, unsettled, and avoiding eye contact.
I brought him into my healing room at the Purple House, tuned into his energy field and applied a few subtle corrections.
What happened next was remarkable.
His tiny body began to twitch and shake, releasing trauma from the birth.
He cried, his face contorted, his fists clenched and unclenched.
Sweat started to drip off his body.
I could feel the energetic release ripple through his whole system.
And then — silence.
Mackiah dropped into the deepest sleep, utterly peaceful.
His breathing changed.
His energy field softened.
He was finally home in his body.
This is what a healing crisis looks like in infants — a rapid discharge of tension followed by a deep reset.
When held in love and safety, the body knows how to heal.
It doesn’t matter if you’re four days old or forty years old — the body remembers how to come back to harmony.
That one session changed the trajectory of Mackiah’s life.
And it reminded me how powerful early healing can be — before stress patterns get locked in.
A Healing Crisis Isn’t a Setback — It’s a Breakthrough
Whether it shows up as physical symptoms, emotional overwhelm, or spiritual upheaval, a healing crisis is the body’s way of reorganising itself.
It’s how we shed layers that have been holding us in constriction — layers we didn’t even realise were there, until they’re gone.
Sometimes, it’s a Herxheimer reaction — which means that your body is detoxing so fast that you feel worse before you feel better.
Sometimes, it’s grief, rage, or exhaustion boiling to the surface.
Sometimes, your entire life goes through a reset — and that’s not a sign of failure.
It’s a sign of progress.
What can a healing crisis look like?
- Diarrhoea
- Excessive thirst
- Sweating or stinky sweat
- Feeling like you can’t get enough sleep
- Feeling overly hungry or losing your appetite
- Emotional releases: crying, shaking, laughter
- Needing space, quiet, or grounding
Usually, these symptoms last no more than 24 hours.
And they are incredibly positive.
Why?
Because they mean your body is doing exactly what it needs to do: a powerful spring clean.
Would you rather all those toxins stay trapped in your system — making you foggy, crabby, tired, or disconnected?
Or would you prefer to let your body flush them out and hit the reset button?
Here’s a truth most people don’t know:
Every negative emotion you carry deep in your subconscious acts like a toxin in your bloodstream.
That’s why deep emotional and energy healing is so important.
When you release trauma, resentment, grief or shame from your nervous system, you look and feel younger.
You reclaim parts of yourself that were locked away.
Right now, the whole world is in a healing crisis.
Old systems are breaking down.
Structures are collapsing.
We are moving from the known into the unknown — from outdated forms into something new and sacred that is still forming.
So what can we do?
How do we navigate the chaos and stay grounded in our truth?
Here Are My Best Tips for Riding the Waves of Healing:
- Stay in your own lane.
Let others have their drama — but don’t let them crash into your lane.
You are responsible for your inner world.
- Keep your eye on your goal.
Especially when things feel chaotic, stay connected to your why.
Your dreams are your compass.
- Do energy work.
Your energy system tells the truth.
It holds the root cause of your struggles — and the blueprint for your healing.
- Ground into the Earth.
Bare feet on the ground.
Breathe.
Let the Earth support you.
- Drink salt water.
Add sea salt to your water to support your cells and adrenals.
- Create sacred pauses.
Take moments to stop, breathe, and reconnect.
- Cull the toxins.
In your body, your space, and your relationships.
Let go of what no longer nourishes you.
- Get regular treatments.
One-off sessions help, but consistent support creates resilience and deep transformation.
