3 steps to loving yourself. For real this time …

Did you know that you were trained to reject love before you could even speak?

Most people were never taught what true love feels like.

In fact, many of us were conditioned for the opposite.

From birth to age four, the average child hears the word “no” between 30,000 and 40,000 times, but only a few thousand “yeses.”

That’s a ratio of roughly 10 ‘no’s’ for every single ‘yes.’

Every “No, don’t,” “Stop that,” or “You can’t” trains the developing brain to equate safety with restriction.

It builds a nervous system that anticipates rejection before an opportunity arises.

So when, as adults, we try to say yes to ourselves, yes to rest, yes to joy, yes to self-love, our body often panics.

We internalised those thousands of “no’s” as an identity:

  • “I am not allowed.”
  • “I am too much.”
  • “It’s safer to shrink.”

This is why self-love can feel foreign, even threatening at first.

Your nervous system doesn’t yet recognise peace as safe.

The Science Behind It:

The oldest part of our nervous system, the reptilian brain or survival brain, seeks what feels familiar, not necessarily what feels good.

If your earliest “love” was mixed with criticism or neglect, your brain decided that stress = love and chaos = safe.

So, when you start practising self-love, your body may rebel because it’s loyal to its first imprint of love.

But there’s great news: your system can be rewired.

Every time you choose a compassionate thought instead of a critical one, a calming breath, or a kind action directed towards the self, instead of ‘pushing through’ discomfort, you’re reprogramming your biology to receive love again.

In the Miracle Method™, we call these old patterns false contracts.

They are ancient agreements you made as a child to survive.

They whisper things like:

  • “Love means sacrifice.”
  • “Love means criticism.”
  • “Love means proving my worth.”
  • “Love needs to be earnt”
  • “Love is unpredictable”

During healing, we cancel those contracts and reset your Vertical Core, which is your energy channel connecting Earth and Source through your body.

When your Core realigns, Source energy begins to flow freely again.

Your cells remember what unconditional love feels like.

Your neuropeptides shift, your heart field expands, and your aura brightens.

You begin to glow.

In the video above I take you through 3 steps to activate your capacity for self love, so click on the video, or read these 3 steps here.

Step 1: Connect In

Close your eyes.

Breathe deeply.

Let your breath travel all the way down to your base chakra, the root of safety and belonging.

Imagine a golden cord connecting you to the heart of Mother Earth.

Each inhale fills your body with stability.

Each exhale releases tension.

Now bring your awareness to your crown and imagine a beam of light extending upward to Source.

Feel yourself suspended between Heaven and Earth, anchored and radiant.

Finally, bring your focus to your heart, by putting one hand on your heart.

Say: I deserve to feel safe in my body. Its safe for me to feel loved.

Step 2: Clear and Cleanse

Notice any tension e.g. a tight jaw, a heavy chest, a knot in your belly.

These are the echoes of old “no’s” stuck in places where love once felt unsafe.

Breathe into them and say: “I now release the need to block self love. I deserve love, and I give myself permission to receive unconditional love”

Imagine crystalline light sweeping through your body, washing away every remnant of unworthiness.

As you exhale, feel spaciousness return.

Step 3: Breathe in Self-Love

Now, breathe in soft pink-gold light.

See it filling your lungs, your heart, and your entire energy field.

Mentally say: “Yes, I am willing to receive my own love and attention.”

Let it flow from your crown to your toes.

If that feels new, begin with compassion: “I’m learning to love myself now, and that’s enough.”

The Three Parameters of True Love

(from Dr Gabe Roberts, Psychosomatic University)

“I welcome you in my presence.”

Love means safety, belonging, and inclusion.

“I see only the best in you.”

Love focuses on your divine essence, not your flaws.

“I am filled with joy to have you here.”

Love delights in being you.

Repeat these mantras daily to anchor your body in unconditional acceptance.

Every time you practise self-love, your biochemistry shifts.

Your vagus nerve calms.

Cortisol drops.

Immune and hormonal systems rebalance.

The Vertical Core brightens, allowing life force to flow again.

You stop chasing love and start being it.

Return to this practice often, and your life will naturally re-organise around peace, joy, and love.
